I am a PhD candidate in the MU Animal Genomics group at the University of Missouri. My research exists at the intersection of population genetics, quantitative genetics, genomics, and animal breeding; all with the ultimate goal of improving livestock efficiency and sustainability. My major PhD project uses novel applications of genome-wide linear mixed models to identify signatures of selection and local adaptation in cattle populations. I’m also interested in how using imputed rare variation affects the accuracy of genomic predictions and estimates of heritability.
